What is a chair massage?

A chair massage range from 10-30 minute massages that focuses on the high-tension areas of the neck, back, shoulders, arms & hands.

Chair massage is performed on an ergonomically designed portable massage chair. You sit on the massage chair facing forward, with your head in a face rest.

Chair massage is especially effective at producing therapeutic results in a brief period of time by concentrating the massage on the areas of greatest tension.

 

How much space is needed?

Space requirements are minimal - only a small 5' x 6' area is needed for the therapist to set up their massage chair and have enough room to move around comfortably.  A 3'x7' area is needed for the therapist to set up their massage table and have enough room to move around comfortably.

Do I remove my clothing?

Not during a chair massage, you remain fully clothed. At most, you may be asked to remove any jacket or obstructive jewelry during the massage.  For a full body Massage you may undress down to your undergarments.  All clients are required to be draped with a sheet or towel, per State Statute.

Do they use oils during the massage?

No oils are used in chair massage. Sometimes a light and absorbent lotion is applied during hand massage. Please let your therapist know if you prefer no lotion.  For full body Massages a non scented oil or lotion is used unless client would prefer a scented aromatherapy session.

Are gratuities or tips expected or included?

Gratuities are not expected or necessary, however they are an excellent way to let the massage therapists know that they've done an outstanding job. If you choose to tip, the average amount is 15-20%.

What about our liability?

All of our massage therapists are required to have professional liability insurance coverage. We would be happy to provide you with more details upon request.

Are your massage therapists trained & licensed?

All of the massage therapists that work with Select Massage are professionally licensed and trained. Upon request, we would be happy to provide you with the documentation of any therapist(s) we send to your company.  All therapists are uniformed and well groomed prior to the arrival of any and all appointments or events on hotel property.

What security measures does Select Massage have in place?

Select Massage takes this very seriously.  For the safety of all parties involved...hotel, guest, therapist and Select Massage all therapist mandatory must call in to our office when arriving on property, at the start and finish of each massage session , as well as when they leave the hotel property grounds.
